Print ’01 was a tradeshow that no one will ever forget – it was supposed to be the “BIG” show since it only happens every four years, the US DRUPA, so to speak.

The event of September 11, 2001 happened right in the middle of Print, and the show ended up being a no-show, with everyone wondering what is going on in this world…

We ended up being stranded in Chicago and eventually drove back to Minneapolis in a minivan…

Midway through the show, I had to take a trip to one of our customer’s site, to guide some Japanese visitors to look at the facility, as well as see how ORIS is being used in production.

The next morning, 9/11/2001. Two planes crashed into World Trade Center. The show came to an immediate halt, and we’re stranded in Chicago, as all flights in the United States are grounded.
