This documents my travels to Hong Kong to visit some good friends overseas. Also travelling from Japan is Maki Takeuchi who decided to take a few days off as well to all gather. It’s been about 4 years since I last visited, and everything is pretty much the same as before, except we’ve all grown older.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh yeah of course the most important thing about this trip – my good friend Tom and Jess have named me the godfather of their daughter Megan Lin\u2026 plenty of baby pictures in this travelogue, April 2002.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tom’s mom invited me to lunch in Wan Chai, and Tom decided to take his lunch break to join us…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Hong Kong, there is never space for a crane when building \/ modifying a buiding, so an ingenius person came up with the idea to 1) use up all the excess bamboo in Asia, and 2) use these bamboos to build scaffolding around construction sites…<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Took a taxi to the Hong Kong train station, where my friend Maki is meeting us – she just flew in from Japan to hang out with us all…<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We went straight to Lan Kwai Fong, where a party was going on. For those who have never been to Hong Kong, LKF is a stretch of around 1\/6 of a mile, lined up with bars, clubs, and restaurants. It has been “the place” to hang out for years.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Everybody was singing football (soccer for American viewers) anthems. Think Manchester United was playing some other team that night<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\n

Maki appeared drunk after just a few drinks… what the heck?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Martin did not notice he was drinking beer from his nose<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The party continues onto Red Rock, a popular hangout<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The waiter was shocked to see our friend Maki appearing sick after just one drink<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
