Towards the end of January I had the chance to visit Japan with my brother Philip. It was a holiday simply to get away from all the worries in the past few months, as well as a chance to see each other after two years apart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The passing of our mother made me want to weave a better web amongst us brothers, Philip, Kevin, and I, simply because the original bond, my mother, isn\u2019t here anymore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am sure mom would want us to stick together, through good and bad times as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During this trip, Philip and I travelled through Kyoto, Osaka, Shusenji (in Izu), and Tokyo. These are the pictures that describe our fun times during this two-week trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Took the bullet train to Izu town of Shusenji, one of the most famous and oldest hot spring resort towns in Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arrived our resort hotel at around 6:30pm… I was immediately mesmerized by our… bathroom!

I must admit – I am a closet bathroom fetish<\/em>. Any clean, simple design will do – I usually know immediately if it interests me in any way…<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Right from our room we can see the courtyard garden<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Settling in, and enjoying the green tea… This “living room area” will be transformed into our living quarters during our dinner downstairs…<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Okay now BACK TO THE BATHROOM – another view – the sliding wood door…<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

And the cool looking sink – the only complaint – too small – while washing my face I end up splashing water all over.

But overall a very space-saving design.

Staring with seafood appetizers… I can not even start explaining what I was eating – all I know is that it tasted great!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

And the awesome sashimi – fresh lobster and various servings of raw fish.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Suddenly I have a feeling I am having French cuisine…<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

And deja-vu from the crab restaurant… grilled crab legs!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Next morning… we decided to take a walk around our hotel<\/a>, Togetsusou Kinryu \u6e21\u6708\u8358\u91d1\u9f8d, in a futile attempt to lose some of the weight we’ve gained since the beginning of this trip (I checked last night – I am 4 lbs. heavier since a week ago… OUCH)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A public (read: next to the road) hot spring – believe me when I tell you – minutes ago this pool was occupied by 4 naked men in their forties… when they were done they scurried away back to where they came from NAKED… and it is all legal. They must not gave any streaking laws here…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The name of the public spring – The Hot Spring of Solitude – not the case when 300 tourists are staring at you and snapping pictures!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Again, water to purify your soul… except that these water are supposedly from the hot springs… I hesitate in drinking that, being it is right next to the Hot Spring of Solitude… what if the water flowed through a bunch of naked middle-aged men’s bodies before it came here?<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

After the visit to the temple, we decided to take a trek to the highest point of Shusenji… supposedly on a clear day we could see Mt. Fuji from afar… since I messed up the Mt. Fuji \/ Philip and Mt.
