SCHLAULAU TRAVELOGUE - SHUSENJI, JAPAN. FEBRUARY 2001.

Shusenji, Japan.
Feb. 2001

During the month of February I had the chance to visit Japan with my brother Philip. It was a holiday simply to get away from all the worries in the past few months, as well as a chance to see each other after two years apart.

The passing of our mother made me want to weave a better web amongst us brothers, Philip, Kevin, and I, simply because the original bond, my mother, isn't here anymore.

I am sure mom would want us to stick together, through good and bad times as well.

During this trip, Philip and I travelled through Kyoto, Osaka, Shusenji (in Izu), and Tokyo. These are the pictures that descible our fun times during this two-week trip.

After one last relaxing breakfast at our hot-springs resort, Philip poses at the garden before we check out, en route to Tokyo.

With two hours to spend (between checking out and catching the bullet train), we walked around the quieter areas of Shusenji...
Another example of how narrow the roads are in rural Japanese towns - the minivan is on a two-way street!
Interesting arts and crafts store.
Nicely decorated... public restroom!
Still amazes me how someone actually took the time to sweep the pebbles every morning to get the pattern...
Good Bye Shusenji!

You're supposed to see Mount Fuji in the background! Darn digital cameras...
