Germany travelogue

I travelled to Germany the entire month of May, visiting various cities throughout Germany. It is my first trip to Europe, so I borrowed a digital camera. I had a blast with old friends, and as well enjoyed my time with new friends. These digital camera pictures are what started the whole schlaulau project..

Flying out of Minneapolis in the afternoon, I am equipped with a borrowed (Thanks Bridget's mom Anita!!!) Fuji MX-600 Digital Camera. Looking out the airplane window I suddenly noticed a familiar sight...immediately I snapped away like a Japanese tourist. Here are the pictures:

How many times have you flown, looked out the window of the plane, and wondered what your house looked like from the sky? Well I had my chance!

While flying towards Frankfurt... wondering if it is a coal power plant or a nuclear power plant (in trouble, hehe)

Arrived at Frankfurt Main approximately 8:20am. My good friend Helmut Franken  picked me up and we drove to CGS in Hainburg (Pictures to come SOON!) After work Helmut and his wife Rita helped me check in to the Bed & Breakfast minutes from their home in Moerlenbach, approximately 1 hour out of Frankfurt:

B&B by night...

and day. The CGS company car...
After checking-in the Frankens (Helmut, Rita, and daughters Nadja and Lena) invited me to a traditional German dinner, complete with all kinds of sausages, bread, and cheese (the food was so good I forgot to take pictures...)

Had lunch at the Lion's Club (Pictures to come SOON!) -seems like all I talk about is FOOD... got to come up with more content I think.

Met Dieter for dinner at the Mainterasse right next to the Main River in Seligenstadt:

A is Bavaria, and B is Germany... divided by a small river. Suddenly it all became clear - in Europe all countries are next to each other.

Drove back to Moerlenbach and rode on Helmut's BMW bike at extremely high (legal) speeds - FUN! Turns out Moerlenbach is located in what the Germans call the "old woods" area, filled with forests and valleys.

Spent Saturday evening at the Knollman's (Axel, Heike, Ina, and Pia) with Andreas for a BBQ, German-style - even more tasty German food  than I can think of...

After watching the F1 Grand Prix at Helmut's house, the Frankens and I went to  a local restaurant... this is what I ordered - delicious pork hocks:

after dinner we enjoyed sitting at Helmut's terrace, talked, drank apple wine, and played with the their two dogs, Osha and Felix.
