I flew in to Minneapolis for our annual sales kickoff meeting on Tuesday night. It was about 75 degrees in L.A. when I boarded the plane, and 5 degrees when I stepped off the plane. BRRR.

I had planned to walk about 15 blocks from my hotel to one of my favorite chinese restaurant after I che led into my room, but the 8 block trek from the light rail to my hotel turned out too be too much for my "west coast" adjusted body.

I ended up having dinner right by my hotel :P

Two more days here and I SHOULD be closer to adjusting for my upcoming business trip to Anchorage, Alaska...

... And hope the Redoubt volcano doesn't blow while I am there!

At the end of my business trip in Minneapolis. No matter how many times people tell me that it is "not that cold", I just don't think my body is able to adjust to the cold like before (when I lived here). Last night while walking back to my hotel from the office (~9 blocks) I saw girls walking around wearing what people would wear in the summer... in Los Angeles! All the while I had a shirt, sweater, jacket, coat... and a scarf. Let's see how I am going to adapt in Alaska in two weeks - just in case if Mount Redoubt blows I am bringing a few basic necessities per FEMA's recommendations: respiratory masks, google...

Sometime between boarding my flight in L.A. and deplaning in Anchorage I caught the flu...

At least they have a sauna in the hotel to help me sweat the virus out... Otherwise YUCK.

Guess what... I am sitting at a convention center alongside a few thousand people, waiting for my Citizenship oath ceremony to begin. The feeling is a bit strange... I thought I didn't care too much about it, as I have been waiting SO LONG for this day... But right when I pulled into the convention center parking lot I felt... Excited! More on this later (with pictures) once I am on line with my laptop!
