This is Julia, who is visiting me in L.A. right now. More details to follow :)

Went to San Francisco a few weekends ago with Julia and met with Dieter, and my good friends Tom and Jess. It was a short weekend but a LOT of fun. :)

Spent a day at Napa, and aother walking the standard tourist traps with Julia (but didn't make it to Alcatraz - maybe next time?), but saw the seals at Fisheman's Wharf, the Lombard "crooked street", and the cable car switch... even though the sights are familiar, I enjoyed the company more than anything...

This is a scan of Julia's (healthy) heart which she just emailed to me this afternoon. During her routine health check her doctor recommended that she send the scan to me, because he sensed that she had given her heart to someone from afar (wow - this doctor is smart!)... too bad I don't have a similar scan to send back to her - except for the CT-scan of my knees. :P

What does this mean? Nothing special, except that for those whom I haven't talked to recently - I am now officially in something that once upon a time I swore I'd never be in: a long distance relationship :)

How does it work? How will it turn out? I don't know. All I know is that both Julia and I decided that we are going to try our best to make this relationship work out, one way or another. Wish us luck!

I know China doesn't officially recognize the Taiwanese flag due to the political conflicts between the two (I wouldn't even go to use words like island/country/province to avoid arguments), but I just spotted this picture on the web showing the "tear down" of the National Stadium after the Olympics wrapped up... in the background the flag right next to the Swiss flag appears to be... a Taiwanese flag?

How is this possible?

Got this picture of Julia's new cat Paul today. If we could only "freeze" the cat so he never grows up... although hearing about how he "attacks" Julia's hands and face I am not sure if it is a good idea ;-)
